▶ 1-min video · 2-min read · What Matic Care does for you, and the five steps of every visit: schedule, Prep, record, note and send.

Written by Bryce Blackwell

Matic Care prepares you for each visit, listens while you see the patient, writes the note and codes, and sends them to athena for you to sign. You stay in charge: nothing reaches athena until you review it.

Your day in five steps

This is the quick version. Each step has its own article that goes deeper, linked under the step.

  1. Schedule. Your athena appointments appear in Matic automatically and update about every two minutes. Click a patient to open the visit.

  4. Note. Matic writes the note and suggests codes on the Note tab. Review it, edit anything, and check the codes on each problem and in the bar at the bottom.

  5. Send. Click Send to Athena at the bottom right of the Note tab. The note and codes arrive in the athena encounter, unsigned, for you to sign.

FAQs

Do I still use athena?

Yes. athena stays your record. Matic reads the chart to prepare you, sends the finished note and codes back to the athena encounter, and you sign in athena.

When does Matic read the chart?

Overnight for tomorrow's visits, again when your MA clicks Done with Check-in (a full refresh of the last 7 days), and a final time at Done with Intake (active medications, vitals and questionnaire screeners). Nothing entered in athena after Done with Intake is read for that visit.

Do I have to say things out loud?

For anything that isn't already in the chart, yes. Matic writes what it hears in the room and what athena held when intake ended. Exam findings, wellness screenings and scores you want documented should be spoken, or typed into the note afterward.

Does Matic replace my judgment on codes?

No. Matic suggests codes from what was documented, and you review every one before sending.
