A tour of the top bar

2-min read · What each button in the top bar does: Schedule, Search patients, Charts not sent, Recent activity, Notifications, Support, Ask Matic and Settings.

Written by Bryce Blackwell

The bar across the top of every page gets you back to your schedule, finds patients, shows notes you haven't sent, and opens help, Ask Matic and Settings.

The Matic top bar on the schedule page: the matic logo and Schedule on the left; Search patients, Charts not sent, Recent activity, Notifications, Support, Ask Matic and Settings on the right. On a narrower window, Charts not sent and Recent activity move into a More button.

On the left

  • matic and Schedule take you back to your schedule from anywhere.

The matic logo and the Schedule button at the left of the top bar, seen from a visit page.
  • Search patients (⌘K), on the schedule page, finds any patient by first or last name, not just today's. If they aren't in Matic yet, use Search Athena at the bottom of the results.

Search patients open on the schedule page, with matching patients listed and the Search Athena button below the results.

On the right

  • Charts not sent (clipboard icon) lists notes you've generated but not sent to athena. Click one to open it.

The Charts not sent list open from the clipboard icon, showing notes that haven't been sent to athena.
  • Recent activity (clock icon) shows the visits you've worked on recently and where each one stands.

The Recent activity list open from the clock icon, showing recent visits and where each one stands.
  • Notifications (bell) shows product updates and service notices from Matic.

The bell icon for Notifications in the top bar, between Recent activity and Support.
  • Support (life-ring icon) opens a chat with Mat, our support agent, and the help articles with your tickets. Ask Mat first: it answers from these guides, and when something is wrong it files a ticket for you and says whether it is already a known bug or request. You can attach a screenshot in the chat.

  • Ask Matic (sparkle) answers questions in plain language. Choose About this patient on a visit or patient page, or General question for an answer from published evidence.

Ask Matic open on a visit, with About this patient and General question below the question box.
  • Settings (gear) holds your profile, templates, Lexicon, language, account and advanced options.

The Settings page opened from the gear icon, with tabs for Profile, Templates, Lexicon, Language, Account and Advanced.

Note: On a narrow window, Charts not sent and Recent activity move into More (⋯).

On a narrow window, the More button in the top bar open, showing Charts not sent and Recent activity.

While you're recording

If you leave a visit while it's recording, a recording chip in the top bar shows the patient and the time. Click it to go back to that visit, or use its pause button.
