Four short steps, about 20 minutes in all, and you're ready for your first clinic day. Do them in order. Each step below opens its own guide; the same guides sit under Start here in the menu on the left, numbered the same way.
Step 1 · Set up your account
5 min
Log in, check your profile, confirm athena is connected and allow the microphone.
Step 2 · Watch the 1-minute intro
2 min
See what Matic Care does and the five steps of every visit: schedule, prep, record, note, send.
Step 3 · Do the tutorial in Matic
About 20 min, in the app
Training mode: Dr. Matic walks you through one sample visit on the real screens, from the night before to the sent note, then you run two practice visits on your own. It covers the top bar, the schedule and a full visit, so there is nothing else to read first.
Prefer to watch first? See a full visit with Alex Sheppert, Matic co-founder and CTO (11 min, optional, with chapters).
Step 4 · Know how to get help
1 min
Click Support in the top bar and chat with Mat, our support agent. It answers from these guides, and when something is wrong it files a ticket for you and tells you whether it is already a known bug or request.
Three things physicians wish they'd known on day one
Matic reads the athena chart at two moments: when your MA clicks Done with Check-in (a full refresh of the last 7 days) and Done with Intake (medications, vitals and questionnaire screeners). Anything entered after Done with Intake is not read. Say it out loud or type it into the note.
Say what you want in the note. Narrate exam findings, and on wellness visits name the screenings and scores. Matic can't write what stayed in your head.
Pick your template before your first visit. Founder's Template is the default and reads as long paragraphs; Problem-oriented gives each problem its own section. Try two for half a morning each, then settle.
Go deeper when you're ready
Optional
The reference guides are here whenever you want them; the tutorial already walked you through what they show. A tour of the top bar · Your schedule, explained · Your first visit, start to finish · Inside a visit: the Prep and Note tabs. Once the basics feel easy, pick up the time-savers: problem list reconciliation, reviewing codes and Magic Edit.
Stuck on a step? Click Support in the top bar and chat with Mat. We'll help.
