Released October 5, 2026.
Wellness and preventive visits, vaccines given today, in-office tests, transitional care and telehealth details are now captured in the note and proposed for billing.
A visit code that loses its supporting diagnosis is held and blocks Send instead of slipping through, and Send only asks you to decide when something needs a decision.
You can also take a problem off the athena problem list straight from Prep, turn on quality codes (CPT II), and reach help and feedback from the new Support menu.
New
Wellness, vaccine and telehealth visits billed in full. Vaccines given today, in-office tests, transitional care and annual wellness visits are captured in the note and proposed for the claim. Answering one of Matic's questions can now add a service with the diagnoses it bills under.
Telehealth documentation. Telehealth notes record the patient's consent, the patient's and your location, audio or video, and who else joined, using only what was said in the visit.
Quality codes (CPT II), opt in. In Visit settings, a new Coding group has a "Quality codes (CPT II)" checkbox, saved for your account. When it's on, Matic adds blood pressure, HbA1c, tobacco and medication review codes only where today's visit documents them. They appear on the claim bar, where you can review or remove them.
Remove a problem from the chart in one click. In Prep, a problem Matic keeps can be taken off the athena problem list from its row, with Undo to put it back.
See why a code changed. When a problem you ticked is coded differently, the review shows the chart code and the reason, and lets you restore it. A ticked problem the note missed, a wellness visit that isn't due yet, or a code that can't be billed is shown for review instead of billed.
Support menu. Click Support in the top bar to chat with Mat, or to open the help articles and your tickets. Matic Enterprise Group Administrators can see every ticket filed for their organization.
Improved
Preventive visits read more completely. Counseling and screening planning appear in the Assessment and Plan, a separate problem visit charge is added only for work beyond the routine check, and a preventive service that isn't due yet is listed with the date it becomes eligible.
More specific diagnoses. Diagnosis choices include more specific options where they matter, such as heart failure type, diabetes complications, CKD stage and obesity class with BMI, and show which ones are risk adjusted. Anything left off today's claim shows its reason, with Accept where it can still be billed.
Coding follows the patient's plan. Medicare Advantage, managed Medicaid, TRICARE and workers' compensation visits now follow that plan's coding rules.
Visit lines lead with the problem diagnosis, with screening, vaccine and wellness diagnoses after it, on screen and in athena.
Send review asks less. The review opens only when something needs a decision, and repeated reasons are grouped under one heading with one action.
One encounter view for everyone. The workflow picker and the separate Care tab are gone.
"Decide on Prep" opens Prep at the suggestions, and the undecided count matches the Send review.
Cleaner notes. No placeholder text, no filler about details that were never mentioned, Assessment and Plan headings in your own words, and doses written only when stated in the visit or on the active medication list.
Faster, smarter Prep. The chart problem list shows as soon as it arrives, accepted problem list changes apply in seconds, and diagnosis search understands common clinical abbreviations and can open a general code into its more specific options.
Clearer Send receipts. Items are marked Sent, Not on claim or Failed, with a plain reason for anything left off the claim.
Note templates. Clinicians see the four approved templates by default; admins can grant access to custom templates.
Fixed
A visit code left without a supporting diagnosis is held and blocks Send with a clear reason, and re-accepting the diagnosis clears it.
Only one send can run per note, so diagnoses can't be written to athena twice, and the Send button stays on "Sending..." if you leave the tab and come back.
A refused send keeps the dialog open with the reason and what to fix, instead of closing and leaving the note "Not sent".
Claims no longer carry conflicting or duplicate diagnoses, such as two CKD stages or the same condition twice.
The full visit transcript is saved with the note, and chart vitals show the date they were measured so an older reading isn't taken as today's.
An audio-only telehealth visit is no longer treated as video.
"Add to claim" on a suggested diagnosis now works, and Add on an offered service in the Send review adds that service.
A diagnosis no longer appears in two assessments at once, and codes athena refused show the reason on the code chip.
Prep no longer suggests adding a problem that's already on the chart after a chart update, and an interrupted brief finishes on its own instead of failing.
