Recorded the visit on another device, or already have a transcript? Add it to the visit from the Prep tab, then finalize to write the note.

Upload an audio or video file

  1. Open the visit. On the Prep tab, open Visit settings and choose Upload recording….

The Visit settings menu on the Prep tab, with Upload recording highlighted.
  2. Select your audio or video file and click Upload.

The Upload recording dialog, where you choose an audio or video file and click Upload.
  3. Wait while Matic shows Transcribing audio…. You'll see Audio uploaded successfully when it's done.

  4. Click Finalize to write the note.

The Prep tab of a visit with a transcript, with the Finalize button highlighted.

Note: Files should be under 40 MB. Clear audio of the whole visit gives the best note.

Paste a transcript

  1. On the Prep tab, open Visit settings and choose Paste transcript….

The Visit settings menu on the Prep tab, with Paste transcript highlighted.
  2. Paste the text and click Upload. It's added to any transcript the visit already has.

The Paste transcript dialog, with the text box and the Upload button highlighted.
  3. Click Finalize to write the note.

Recording offline

You usually don't need to upload anything if your connection drops during a live recording. Matic keeps recording, saves the audio in your browser, and uploads it when you're back online.

  • Recording saved on this device: you're offline. Keep the page open.

  • Reconnected — processing the audio recorded while offline.: Matic is catching up. Finalize is unavailable until it finishes.

While offline audio is still being processed, Finalize is greyed out and the reason shows next to it: Processing audio recorded offline — please wait.
  • Recording paused — offline limit reached: offline recording stops after 20 minutes. Click Resume once you're back online.

Important: Don't clear your browser data or switch browser or device until offline audio has been processed. Otherwise it's lost.
